Windshields get the attention, but a car carries five or six other pieces of glass and each fails in its own way. Quarter glass, the small fixed pane behind the rear door, usually goes when something clips the corner of the body. Vent windows crack at the frame. Back glass shatters into cubes and takes the defroster grid and often the radio antenna with it. Sunroof panels break from above rather than beside. We replace all of them, and the first thing we need is the year, make and model, because these parts vary far more between vehicles than a windshield does.
On these blocks the pieces we go through fastest are the small ones. Cars packed tight along a narrow street get corners clipped by vans squeezing past, and the glass at the corner is what pays. If yours is a common model the part is usually in the building and the job is done the same day; if it is not, an order placed in the morning normally lands the next working day. Bonded panes are set with urethane and need cure time, and we go through that before you leave. Gasketed pieces are quicker and you drive off straight away.

There is a specific North Broadway version of this job. The street sweeper moves half the block across on schedule, everybody shuffles into whatever gap they can find, and a corner of a bumper meets a corner of a quarter window somewhere in the process. It is the least dramatic damage we see and among the most common.
