A commuter's car is the ideal mobile job because it is stationary for a predictable stretch of time. You park at half past eight, you are back at five, and everything in between belongs to us: the fitting, the cleanup and the full cure on a bonded pane, without anybody having to arrange a ride or wait in a room. That is the argument for booking this at work rather than losing a Saturday to it. The catch is access, and downtown access is more complicated than it looks from the street.
Before a tech is dispatched we want the level, the space number and the height limit posted at the deck entrance, because a service van is taller than the designers had in mind on some of the older structures. A bay against a pillar can also be too tight to stand at the A-pillar with a windshield. Where the deck rules it out, a surface lot off Raymond Boulevard usually works, and if neither does, leaving the car at Oraton Street and taking the light rail back into the middle of downtown is often the least disruptive route of all.

There is one downtown detail that catches people out. Some decks require a service vehicle to be signed in, or will not admit one at all without prior notice from the tenant, and that is a conversation with the operator rather than with us. Worth having before the booking rather than at eight in the morning with a tech waiting at a barrier. Metered spaces work well for a chip repair or a door window, both done inside an hour, but they are a poor choice for anything bonded, since a cure period and a parking clock do not sit comfortably together. Where your vehicle needs a static camera calibration, that has to happen at the shop. Everything else here is workable with a bit of notice about the building.

If the ramp or the entrance has a bar we cannot clear, the job does not happen no matter how good the bay itself is. Send us the posted clearance and the level, and you will get a yes or a no before anybody drives across town for nothing.
